Barney's Candy Land Outline Part 2

-Ice breakers-

At the start of the party, I am going to have a table set up with, purple, yellow and green buckets that I am going to measure and print out a photo, similar to the party invitation, that has the picture of Barney and Friends and the Candy land game, and personalize each one with the child's name, and glue those to the bucket. As for the kids, I will have glitter glue, different candy and Barney stickers, markers, crayons, etc. so that they can personalize it and make it their own. This will be there treat bucket that they will collect along the Candy Land game.

To start off, I'm only going to have the Barney's Candy Land Game Sheet in their buckets. I'm going to be making this myself and I'll post pictures of it once I'm done. It's going to have a page for each of the stops along the way, and a spot for a sticker, as well as something from that stop. For example, the 123 learn stop might have counting 1 to 10 on it, and then there will be a square for a sticker. The children will have to collect a sticker from each stop in order to get their Candy Land prize at the end of the game. (The prize is going to be the Candy Land game board for each child). They get their sticker by completing the activity, etc. that each stop has.

-Favors-

As I mentioned above, I am using buckets for the kids favor bags. I like to cut down the cost as much as possible so I've been saving empty formula cans and will take the edges, so no child gets cut and then glue the label I'm making onto it. I'll also twist a few pipe cleaners together and make a handle. You can use any kind of can like this, and just make sure you tape the edges. These buckets will be for the goodies that they will collect in the game.

I will be having three different categories of Goody Bags. The kids two and over will receive a toothbrush, personalized Barney Candy Land Story and Coloring Book, Barney Candy stickers and a tattoo, a Barney pencil, and an inflatable ball. The under two crowd will receive the personalized Barney Candy Land Story and Coloring Book, a toothbrush, fruit snacks, mixed berry yogurt, Animal Crackers in a little Barney Container, and a small candy shaped plush. I always like to have something for the adults to thank them for coming, so I'm going to be making cupcake and lollipop towels as the adult favor. I'll be posting a tutorial on those in the future. Also, at the end of the party, the children will be able to have a turn at the Candy Buffet, and fill the rest of their goody bags with candy.

-Prizes-

I'm not a fan of winners or losers, especially with this age category. The world is such a competitive place already and I don't want to encourage it so young. That being said, I like to make it so everyone gets a prize. The main prize for completing the Candy Land Game and all of its activities is the Candy Land game board. Other prizes that I'm going to have is Barney DVD'S, Barney books, Barney plush, chocolate pudding cups for the Chocolate Swamp, Large Lollipop for Lollipop Woods, Sparkly Notepad for Gumdrop Mountain, tootsie roll banks, mini gumball machine, candy land puzzle, candy land scratch and sniff board books, skittles lip smacker, and probably tons more.

I'm also going to create a couple Punch Boxes. Have you ever seen those? They are so cool! I think it will be a nice alternative than just giving the child a prize. They get to basically pop their hand through tissue paper and get their prize.

-The Pinata-

No party is complete without a pinata! I don't care how much stuff you have planned for your party. The children always go nuts for the pinata, so don't leave this out! Since, I am having a candy buffet, I'm not going to be stuffing the pinata with candy. I'm probably going to go to the Dollar Tree and get little toys, and small packs of play doh, mini books, etc and stuff it with this! I'm not a huge fan of the pinata party packs. The toys are generic, and in the long run it's cheaper to go to the Dollar Tree. Seriously, just go down the toy aisle, and look for toys that come in packs, and it will be a lot better!

-The Music-

I put my idea in the Invite section of my first post but I wanted to elaborate a little more on it. Each stop will have different music playing. (Borrowing a lot of cd players!! Or you can download the tracklist to your phone, etc. but you need to be sneaky about this!)

The track list for the Party that will be used is
It's Cold Burr
Mr. Knickerbocker
On way to Grandpa's Farm
The Elephant Song
Oh Mister Sun
If All the Raindrops
Imagine a Place
Just Imagine
Old Macdonald
Jungle Adventure
Every Animal Talks
When U Mix
Rainb
The Alphabet Song

I will also have different candy songs playing in the Candy Land sections such as "Lollipop and Candy Man". As far as other audio, since I'm having Barney, Baby Bop and BJ there. I'm going to have different speeches from them in their right spots too. This is going to take some incredible timing, because Barney, Baby Bop and BJ are going to be leading Candy Land Game Adventure, so it's only natural that they would be talking to them!

-The Food-

I always like to offer a full meal, with lots of snacks, and desserts. For the main menu for this party, I am going with a barbeque theme. There is going to be barbeque chicken, 7 layer salad, corn on the cob, a baked potato bar, a bow tie pasta salad, and macaroni salad. There is also going to be a "Rainbow Pass Pizzeria" sign which I will have different kinds of pizza, such as cheese, taco, fruit and then a chocolate dessert pizza.

For dessert, I'm going to be making tons of homemade cinnamon rolls, and different kinds of cake pops. I'm also going to have the chocolate bar fountain running, with fruit, rice krispys, and pound cake for dipping. Then of course there will be the grand 3 tier Barney's Candy Land Cake.

For the finale, there will be a Candy Buffet. I'm going to buy tons of glass jars and vases at the Salvation Army and put all kinds of different candies in them to fashion them like an old fashioned candy shoppe. There will be gigantic lollipops, jellybeans, runts, gumdrops, chocolates, mints, different variety of cake pops, chocolate dipped pretzels, mini chocolate bars, peanut m and ms, Twizzlers, skittles, all kinds of different candy. Of course I had to go with the birthday girl's favorites!
